What is Alpha?
Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith, in a friendly, open and informal environment.
Alpha @SaintBP is not so much a course, but an experience! Gathering once a week over an eight or ten week period, each Alpha experience brings together people from every walk of life. We begin each Alpha gathering by sharing a meal. We've held Alpha at a local Sushi restaurant (affectionately known as 'Sushi Alpha'); at a local pub-- (Pub Alpha) and occasionally in the homes of some of our member leaders.
No matter where Alpha takes place, the format is the same. We eat together, we listen to a talk and then we gather together in small groups for discussion. Over 29 million people across the globe have done Alpha.
Check out this powerful witness by one of our recent Alpha graduates, Chris Gray:
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone and anyone. The beauty of Alpha is that there are no questions that are too hostile, too silly or too simple. Alpha has no prerequisites whatsoever. We come together with one another as we are, free to be ourselves.
Current or upcoming Alpha experiences include:
This Alpha runs on Thursday evenings (6:30-9pm) in the winter and Friday nights in the fall. Winter Evening Alpha began on Thursday, January 19th and registration is now closed. Please pray for all our guests and team.
Fall Evening Alpha (including ministry for school-aged children) will be happening again in 2017. Please check back later for dates and details and to register.
Held on Wednesday mornings in the spring and fall at Saint Benedict Parish. This Alpha is a great choice for those who are available during the day. Parents, we are offering childcare for this Alpha now, please register your children separately.
