Alpha provides an opportunity to meet others and chat about some of life’s big questions in an open and friendly environment. Alpha is for anyone and everyone. Weekly sessions typically include:
- a meal
- an intriguing talk (often on video, but not always)
- small group discussion
People enjoy great food, laughter and learning in a fun and non-threatening atmosphere where no question about life or God is seen as too simple or too hostile...questions like:
- Is there a God?
- Why am I here?
- Where am I going?
We value relationships! Connect Groups meet every other week in homes across our region and are a great way to build relationships, grow closer to Christ and get connected. Think Christian house party.
Check out our open Connect Group for men: Men’s Leadership GYM (God, You and Me)
We encourage all our members to continue to grow as disciples of Jesus. Discipleship Groups are small groups of 4-12 people who gather in homes for a certain number of weeks to focus on learning content. Discipleship Groups meet year round @SaintBP and we usually have a parish-wide Discipleship Group initiative during Lent.
For more information on Discipleship Groups, contact our Discipleship Group Coordinator, Catherine Gould.
We have a variety of ministries serving children and young families at Saint Benedict Parish.
WOW (Wee Ones' Word) welcomes infants and pre-schoolers every Sunday morning during the 9am Mass.
SHINE (Seeking Him in Everything) is the Sunday morning program for kids in elementary school (primary to grade 5) and it takes place every Sunday morning during the 9am and 11:15am morning Masses.
The Encounter is a brand new program starting in September for kids in grades 5 and 6. It is an evening program that will take place every Tuesday evening. It's a junior youth group helping to bridge the gap between SHINE and The Experience (our youth group).
For more information on these programs, please contact our Director of Children's MInistries, Laura O'Rourke.
Youth (grades 7-12)
On Monday nights, our place is full of young people here for The Experience. Teens gather to hear talks, have small group discussions, for praise and worship, prayer and fun! For information please contact our Coordinator of Youth Ministry, Ronnie Lunn.
Divine Renovation Conferences
In June, 2016 Saint Benedict Parish was excited to host a conference on Fr. James Mallon's book, Divine Renovation. Parish leadership teams (just over 600 people, from 11 countries!) joined us for three or four days to hear talks and attend workshops on parish renewal. Check out this page for a bit more information, and for all things Divine Renovation, go here.
In January 2017, the parish leadership team and the Divine Renovation Ministry team announced plans to host another Divine Renovation Conference, in June 2018. Click here for more information and to register.
