Connect Groups

In the Saint Benedict Parish Game Plan we have two types of groups: Connect Groups and Discipleship Groups.

At the pinnacle of the Saint Benedict Parish Game Plan, Connect Groups are mid-sized home groups of 15-35 people who have completed Alpha. Meeting every two weeks, they are lay led and are places where our members are known, loved and cared for in a way that could never happen if it was simply up to the priest or the parish staff.

At Connect Groups, members gather for a shared meal, a talk by one of the members, small group discussion and time of praise and worship.

Amazing things happen every single week in our Connect Groups. We form new Connect Groups when we have identified, called forth and equipped new leaders.

Does the gathering of a group of often isolated and anonymous individuals under the same roof for an hour constitute a community? I think not. Authentic community is a place where we are known and loved. It is a place where we find others to whom we are accountable and who are accountable to us.

We ask that all who seek to belong to a Connect Group go through the experience of Alpha first. This is the only way that members can have a frame of reference for the degree of support and connection that we seek to establish.
Perhaps you were asked to serve on an Alpha Team but were unable to? If you have served on Alpha Team, please share what role(s) you played and when you served.
If yes, please share which ministry or ministries.

Our Connect Groups are often demographically-based.
If you're seeking a group for more than just you as an individual, please give us a bit of information on this.
