Again this year, we will be inviting parishioners to gather in Discipleship Groups during Lent.
This Lent, we will be doing a four-week study on "Mary Magdalene, Apostle to the Apostles," by Dinah Simmons. Some of you have already read the book; this is your chance to discuss it and share prayer time with others.
The sessions will look at how Mary Magdalene models for us what it is to be a disciple. She followed Jesus and supported him during his public ministry; she was present at the foot of the cross; and she was the first to encounter the Risen Lord on Easter Sunday. Participants will be asked to read, pray, and reflect at home, and then come together for discussion and further prayer.
For those who are unable to host or attend an at-home small group, we will offer sessions in the parish auditorium. You can choose to attend on Wednesday mornings or evenings. Sessions will be from 10am until noon, or 7 to 9pm.
We will gather on March 13, 20, and 27. We will skip April 3 because of the parish mission, and so our wrap-up session will be April 10.
Please note that the first session will begin half-an-hour earlier than the following sessions, to allow more time to explain the process: 9:30 in the morning and 6:30 in the evening on March 13.
The book "Mary Magdalene, Apostle to the Apostles" is available at the Welcome Centre or the parish office, for $12.00.
