What is Alpha?
Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith, in a friendly, open and informal environment.
Alpha @SaintBP is not so much a course, but an experience! Gathering once a week over a ten week period, each Alpha experience brings together people from every walk of life. We begin each Alpha gathering by sharing a meal. We've held Alpha at a local Sushi restaurant (affectionately known as 'Sushi Alpha'); at a local pub-- (Pub Alpha) and occasionally in the homes of some of our member leaders.
No matter where Alpha takes place, the format is the same. We eat together, we listen to a talk and then we gather together in small groups for discussion. Over 29 million people across the globe have done Alpha.
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone and anyone. The beauty of Alpha is that there are no questions that are too hostile, too silly or too simple. Alpha has no prerequisites whatsoever. We come together with one another as we are, free to be ourselves.
Current or upcoming Alpha experiences include:
This Alpha runs on Friday evenings (6:30-9pm) in the fall and winter at Saint Benedict Parish.
Winter Evening Alpha (with ministry for school-aged children) began on Friday, February 2nd and ended in April.
Registration for Alpha in the fall (starting September 21st) will be available soon-- please check back.
Like Evening Alpha, Daytime Alpha takes place on Fridays @SaintBP. Running in the morning (9:45-noon) in the spring and fall, this Alpha is a great choice for those who are available during the day. Parents, whenever possible, we offer childcare during Alpha, please register your children separately.
